dB has got 2 different applications :
1. Decibel SPL (dB SPL)
unit used to measure the strength of sound, in terms of sound pressure levels

194 dB : Shock waves

130 dB : threshold of pain

110 dB : Chain saw

90 dB : Lawn mower

60 dB : Conversation

20 dB : Whispering

0 dB : Threshold of human hearing

2. Decibel (dB)
unit used to measure the loudness of sound, in terms of audio level or signal
